Mirjam works as an independent choreographer and dance artist in Berlin, Basel and London.
Her work has been performed in London, Berlin, Switzerland and Ireland. Most recently she created the duet unknowing, which premiered in October 2015 at Theater Roxy Basel and will be shown in London and Berlin in summer 2016. Current projects are the creation of a durational site specific performance for Candoco Dance Company at the Wellcome Collection London in May 2016 and a participative cross-cultural community dance project she will facilitate in Basel in autumn 2016.
Mirjam danced with Candoco for four years from 2011-2015. As associate artist, she now works as rehearsal director, choreographer, teacher and performer. Most recent performances include Jerome Bel’s The Show Must Go On (UK Theatre Award 2015) and Javier de Frutos’ duet Studies For C. She created work with Trisha Brown Company, Thomas Hauert, Rachid Ouramdane, Hetain Patel and Claire Cunningham, and performed for Wendy Houstoun, Nigel Charnock, Emanuel Gat and the Beijing Olympics 2008 and London Paralympics 2012.
Born in Switzerland, Mirjam trained at Basel Theatre, the Vienna State Opera, the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts and Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London (Transitions Dance Company, MA Dance Performance). She is a certified Qi Gong/Tai Ji Quan teacher.
Mirjam is the recipient of the Dance UK Mentorship 2015/16 for future leaders in dance.
