Nadja Dias

Producer

I have been with Candoco since November 2005 and I am still as excited about the company’s work and future plans as I was back then..

I am working as part of Candoco’s Senior Management Team, with the Executive Director and Co-Artistic Directors, to deliver the company’s mission and objectives; specifically developing and producing Candoco’s live programmes encompassing national and international touring, performances in traditional and non-traditional settings, artist development and learning projects.

With a BA in Arts, Music and Entertainment Management from the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts I truly enjoy the different areas I am involved in- from working with the Co-Artistic Directors and creative collaborators on developing idea and projects, international and national tour booking, venue liaison and tour logistics, to working with venue marketing teams on marketing campaigns and implementing Candoco’s digital presence– my work certainly never gets boring.

Alongside my role with Candoco I also work as freelance producer, having worked with artists such as Nigel Charnock and Gecko as well as working for organisations such as Sadler’s Wells on specific projects. Prior to joining Candoco I have worked nationally and internationally in marketing and management across the arts and commercial sector for companies such as AEI Media (UKF & Drum & Bass Arena), Flytxt, Bottlefed and Liverpool Biennial. Having worked in Germany for a commercial radio station and event company and in Canada for a theatre production company and a festival, I have now lived in the UK for over 12 years.

I am interested in building partnerships with creative and delivery partners, national & international venues, agencies and festivals to develop more and better strategic alliances to share risks and increase benefits of creative and learning projects.

I am keen to explore further how digital tools tnot only develop the company’s profile, but also allow us to have a dialogue with our audiences, dance artists and the wider community about inclusive dance practice and contemporary dance.

Performance highlights over the last years have been:

  • Lotte van den Berg – Stillen
  • Tanztheater Wuppertal – Café Mueller
  • Nigel Charnock – Ten Men
  • Rafael Bonachela’s ‘And Who Shall Go To The Ball’, Javier de Frutos ‘Studies for C’ and the restaging Set and Reset/ Reset for Candoco
