From the ballroom to the Brit Awards, Arlene Phillips has been a trailblazer in choreography for popular dance styles for over 40 years. Candoco Dance Company, the company of disabled and non-disabled dancers, has commissioned Phillips to collaborate with its dancers, Joel Brown and Laura Patay, in a new romantic duet. Danced with passion and sensitivity to a collection of pop songs, this is a potent and emotive exploration of falling in and out of love over and over, often with the same person.
You and I Know is presented at Bitesize Barbican, a series of free performances on the FreeStage at lunchtime. Bitesize Barbican is part of the Barbican’s foyer programme, which extends the ambitious artistic programme beyond the walls of its venues and into the public spaces.
