Every Saturday night this November, Candoco pops up at Duckie, gay London’s leading pop and performance club, with eclectic extracts from the company’s repertory that are ‘delicious and very funny’ and ‘utterly cool’. Invited by Duckie to help ring in their 18th birthday, Candoco celebrates difference with bold and beautiful dance by some of the UK’s most exciting and iconic choreographers including Lea Anderson, Javier de Frutos and Nigel Charnock. Each Saturday features Candoco’s dancers in solos, duets or group work on the legendary Royal Vauxhall Tavern stage:

2 November – Vicky Malin in extracts from Matthias Sperling’s This is it

9 November – Kostas Papamatthaiakis and Rick Rodgers in extracts from Javier de Frutos’ Two for C

16 November – Candoco in extracts from Wendy Houstoun’s Imperfect Storm

23 November – Annie Hanauer in extracts from Lea Anderson’s Miniatures

30 November – Previous members of Candoco join the current dancers to reprise sections of Nigel Charnock’s Still

For the past 18 years Duckie have run their flagship rock’n’roll homo-disco at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern every Saturday platforming progressive performance for LGBT punters and beyond. They are social engineers aiming to reach out beyond the gay community creating ‘good nights out’ that bring different communities together.
